Leonetto Cappiello

Leonetto Cappiello was an Italian caricaturist who moved to Paris in 1898. His figures are similar to Toulouse-Lautrec's in their simplification of extraneous detail and focus on certain features. His works also show an interest in Japanese woodblock art, which is visible noticeably in his flat plains of color, his color choices, and his use of curving, sinuous lines.
